We’re a group of parents, neighbors, and community members working to stop the closure of Hawthorne Elementary School—and to protect all of Helena’s neighborhood schools.
Hawthorne is more than just a school—it’s a place where kids walk to class, where teachers know every student, and where families feel connected. It’s also one of the top-performing schools in the district—but it’s now under threat.
The superintendent is pushing a long-term plan to close neighborhood schools like Hawthorne, Broadwater, Jefferson, and Smith—and replace them with massive “super schools.”
Let’s make sure the board hears what this city truly wants:
Walkable, neighborhood schools that serve our kids - not top-down closures or super schools.
